Charles Michels is a Partner at Taylor, Pigue, Marchetti & Blair and joined the firm in 2012. His practice is focused on civil litigation and municipal law.
Charles earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2012 from Vanderbilt University Law School.While pursuing his Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Vanderbilt Law School, he was the Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. His Note, Major League Baseball and the National Collegiate Athletic Association: Private Lotteries and Enforceable Contracts, was featured in Volume 14, Issue 2, of the Journal.
Charles has been Rrated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell since 2018 and has experience acting as lead counsel in high stake trials. In 2022, Charles filed two requests for permission to appeal to Tennessee’s Supreme Court, both of which were granted.
In 2018, Charles was designated as a Legal Government Fellow by the International Municipal Lawyers Association. The Fellow Designation recognizes legal specialists in the field of local government law as demonstrated through exam style testing and peer review. At the time of receiving the designation in October of 2018, he was one of thirteen Fellows in private practice, and just the second Fellow practicing in Tennessee.
Charles was named Partner of the firm in August 2019. His legal mind, service focus and dedicated work ethic continue to strengthen our firm and our clients.
In his free time he enjoys relaxing with his wife, three sons, and dog as well as renovating his 1930s home in Nashville and cheering for the Cincinnati Bengals.
